Statistics current for the September 2011-June 2012 teaching year
Since March 2009 Orphan Impact has reached 898 orphans and street children from among 15 orphanages, shelters, or associations. We are currently teaching 215 children from 8 orphanages all across Vietnam.
Project Highlights
November 2011
Trialed our 1st "Distance Learning Video Lesson" in Vinh Phuc in an attempt to improve the quality of the lessons in orphanages outside of major cities.
October 2011
Hosted our 5th Intel Education Service Corps Team of volunteers in Vietnam.
August 2011
Designated 3 orphanages as the "focus orphanages" for the 2011-2012 school year in attempt to place an increased emphasis on career preparation.

More than $10,000 in donations was raised within 1 week following the San Jose Mercury News feature by John Boudreau.

Completed our 1st full teaching year of 40 curriculum weeks (September 2010-June 2011).

Launched a new partnership with the Worldwide Orphans Foundation to teach computers to children at an orphanage for children who have tested positive for HIV.

Kicked off our first public fundraising drive with a new Child Sponsorship Program for 109 children in South Vietnam.

Launched the Mobile Teaching Team in Ho Chi Minh City to provide training to 4 orphanages and 109 children.

Re-located our headquarters to Ho Chi Minh City to expand the Orphan Impact project in South Vietnam.
